Welcome!

Avent Ferry United Methodist Church welcomes everyone to worship God with us! We embrace diversity in reverence to the Lord Jesus Christ whose words are “Go therefore into all the world and make disciples of all nations,  baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”  (Matthew 28:19) Our congregation is multi-cultural,  located near the NCSU campus,  and walking distance from Mission Valley Shopping Center. Come celebrate God’s love with us and enjoy the gift of Christian community. The Service of Worship is at 11:00 Sundays,  Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month,  and nursery is provided.

GROUNDS workday

From Freda Butner:
All are invited to help with our GROUNDS workday this Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 am until around noon. You can participate early or later in the day as able. Bring gloves, rakes, water bottles, weed eaters, all kinds of trimmers and any other yard tools you may have. Up close to the church is finished, but the church sits on 16 acres, so there is plenty to keep dozens of people busy for a few hours. We need to clean up the space for the Christmas trees too. Pick a place to shape up for fall!

CropWalk 2011

The older youth have decided to walk in the CROP walk and are inviting any other youth and Hallelujah Club kids to join them.  This year, the CROP walk is in costume!  It starts at 2, so after lunch at church, we will carpool over to Marbles Kids Museum.  Please let me know if you/your child are planning to walk in the CROP walk and if you can help drive.

See www.cropwalkraleigh.com for more details.
