Avent Ferry United Methodist Church (UMC) provides a Christ centered worship that is disciple building. Seekers and believers find commonality in a dynamic worship environment. We want each participant to experience the Body of Christ; therefore we incorporate traditional or alternative worship into every aspect of church ministry. The congregation at Avent Ferry UMC is blessed by a rich diversity of ethnic backgrounds and celebrates multiculturalism. The warmth and genuine love from fellow church members makes everyone feel welcome and accepted.
Avent Ferry UMC provides an atmosphere of invitation: an invitation to Christ, an invitation to worship, and an invitation to participate in our church’s ministry. Our multicultural and diverse community of faith is a visible and welcoming presence in our community both because of our building and location and through the actions of our congregation. We intentionally begin to develop holy relationships as we minister and serve God through invitation. These relationships build on the cornerstone of our church, which is Jesus Christ.
At Avent Ferry UMC, the nurturing component of our mission statement is woven like a tapestry through every activity of the church. Small groups strive to meet the spiritual needs of each person. These include the Hallelujah Club for elementary school aged children, UMYF for middle and high school students, a vibrant college/young adult ministry, small group Bible studies, prayer teams, and a senior adult ministry. It is our intention to effectively communicate these opportunities to build community and meet the needs of God’s people.
Avent Ferry UMC is a serving church of strength and stability in our community and throughout the world. We are a life-changing place to the “up and coming” members of our community who may be unchurched, lonely, sick, hurting or otherwise in need. We embrace all ages, backgrounds and life experiences as we worship, dance, sing and serve God’s people.
